Job Summary:
This management position is responsible for systems administration encompassing servers (virtual and physical), access management, patching, systems deployment, and issue resolution. This person will plan, implement, and support the current server infrastructure and requirements for new systems. The System Administrator is expected to stay up-to-date on the latest patches, processes and procedures for servers and access management solutions. In addition, they will look for new technologies to help automate processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- This is primarily an on-site position.
- Manage all servers (virtual and physical), server components, patching, backups (includes test restores) and other server related duties
- Manage on-premise Exchange system and Exchange 365
- Manage, develop, review and implement processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server infrastructure
- Implement configuration and maintenance best practices to maintain high network server availability; participate in Change Management
- Coordinate patching of network servers with application team
- Trouble shoot and problem solve for systems issues including (sometimes) application and network level issues
- Industry specific security duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems and methodologies
- Active Directory Management with Group Policies
- Sufficient knowledge of network protocols to support servers
- Able to work with complex technical and business matters
- Valid California driver's license with current DMV printout required
Desired Skills:
- Windows servers, SQL server a plus
- Citrix VDI and Virtual Apps, a plus
