Job Summary:

The Barback assists the bartenders in maintaining a well-stocked, clean service area by providing ice, stocking supplies, liquor, beer and wine as needed and necessary. Maintain clean glassware displayed in a safe manner, ensuring all equipment is continuously cleaned after each use and ready to go.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist bartender as needed.
• Maintain par levels of ice, cut fruit and garnishes, paper products, espresso machine supplies, glassware, bartender supplies, liquor, beer, change kegs, wine, water, soft drinks and roll-ups.
• Respond to each bartender frequently and repeatedly to determine their needs.
• Assist with the set-up, movement, stocking and breakdown of bars.

Absolutely Required Skills: 

• Must be able to handle large volume of tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, such as walking and standing excessively and lifting/pushing/pulling 20-50 lbs. frequently.
• Must be team oriented, driven to overcome stressful situations by problem solving and passionate about serving people.
• Ability to work a varied and flexible schedule.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.

Desired Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent and some college preferred.
• Knowledge of the Pebble Beach Resorts and the Monterey Peninsula.
• Knowledge of Info Genesis or other restaurant point of sale system helpful.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use and firm grasping is required.
