Job Summary:

The Fitness Instructor will teach multiple formats, such as, barre, zumba, aqua aerobics, yoga, resistance and cardio classes. Teach private and semi-private sessions along with group classes to our members and guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruct fitness classes, at high level of proficiency.
• Set-up and remove class equipment.
• Maintain order and cleanliness in aerobic studio. Keep class tools clean.
• Fill-in for other instructors, whenever possible.
• Maintain current certification through continuing education.
• Present aerobic routines that are safe and effective.
• Motivate participants and recognize their progress.
• Communicate basic guidelines regarding injury prevention and effectiveness throughout the class.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for fitness.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Certified instructor (ACE, AFAA, ACSM) or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience with responsibilities in fitness training or class instruction.

Desired Skills:

• Additional specialty/certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use.
