Job Summary:
The Fitness Instructor will teach multiple formats, such as, barre, zumba, aqua aerobics, yoga, resistance and cardio classes. Teach private and semi-private sessions along with group classes to our members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct fitness classes, at high level of proficiency.
- Set-up and remove class equipment.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in aerobic studio. Keep class tools clean.
- Fill-in for other instructors, whenever possible.
- Maintain current certification through continuing education.
- Present aerobic routines that are safe and effective.
- Motivate participants and recognize their progress.
- Communicate basic guidelines regarding injury prevention and effectiveness throughout the class.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
Absolutely Required Skills:
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for fitness.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Certified instructor (ACE, AFAA, ACSM) or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of experience with responsibilities in fitness training or class instruction.

Ability to stand for long periods of time. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use.
