Job Summary:

The Steward properly stores and rotates food and nonperishable items. Provide clean utensils, kitchen equipment and outlet wares, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identify cleaning projects and recommend these tasks to staff during slow periods.
• Supply clean dishes, glassware, silverware and equipment.
• Stock and requisition cleaning supplies as needed.
• Clean floors in work areas and frequently check floors in bars for spills.
• Assist with inventory of china, flatware and glassware.
• Perform pest control procedures in all kitchens.
• Clean and store kitchen equipment.
• Keep trash compactor area clean.
• Dispose of garbage.
• Report equipment failures to supervisor, before initiating a work order.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• One year kitchen, cleaning or dishwashing experience.
• Ability to understand directions and communicate clearly with supervisor and co-workers.
• Knowledge of sanitation and good organizational skills preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy stock.
