Job Summary:

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager ensures the orderly and efficient administration of the Housekeeping Department, by assisting the Executive Housekeeper in the supervision of staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enforce all quality standards, regulations, policies and procedures set forth by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Recommend changes and improvements as needed.
  • Manage administrative duties of the department in an efficient and fiscally responsible way, including scheduling, requisition of supplies and record keeping.
  • Communicate policies and procedures to supervisors and staff. Serve as a liaison to other departments.
  • Serve as a role model for quality service and guest relations.
  • Train staff and provide on-going support.
  • Gather information and make recommendations to the Executive Housekeeper for products and services provided by various vendors and outside contractors.
  • Coordinate and participate in steering committees for special functions and projects.
  • Keep proprietary and confidential information secure.
  • Attend and conduct all departmental meetings.
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, disciplinary actions and other personnel functions.
  • Recommend disciplinary measures, transfers, re-assignments and promotions.
  • Conduct daily quality standards inspections in VIP rooms and all areas of the resorts.
  • Set priorities and delegate daily assignments.
  • Coordinate, assign and evaluate progress of special projects.
  • Monitor consumption of supplies and equipment usage, using the standards of established. quotas, safety and quality. Organize, conduct and participate in all inventories.
  • Monitor performance of outside contractors and vendors. Recommend changes as needed.
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Serve as Executive Housekeeper in his or her absence.
  • Relieve other Assistant Manager’s throughout the resorts.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Previous hotel or housekeeping experience required.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Customer service and organizational skills required.
  • Understanding of cleaning methods and products used in institutional settings.
  • Experience with budgets and scheduling required.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
