Job Summary:

The Porter 2 facilitates the guest arrival and departure experience by handling luggage, greeting guests, parking cars, and showing guests to their rooms. Provide a “5 Star” level of service for the guests at all times. Good driving record, polished manners and interpersonal skills required. Able to lift safely and give clear directions required. Must be able to perform physical work, including heavy lifting for entire shift.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests with arrival and departure.
  • Assist guests with storage, loading, unloading, and safe handling of luggage.
  • Transport guests and luggage to and from the guest rooms.
  • Direct parking and traffic at the front entrance of the hotel, to ensure safety, security, and a five-star guest service experience.
  • Open and close the front doors of the hotel as guests pass through.
  • Greet guests in accordance with the 15-10-5 standard.
  • Use guest names and recognize return guests, whenever possible.
  • Answer questions and provide information on daily functions taking place at the resort.
  • Suggest and recommend our services (i.e. spa facilities, retail stores) and our food and beverage outlets (i.e. restaurants, bars).
  • Clean, maintain and ensure good repair and appearance of the bell carts.
  • Assist manager on duty in an emergency.
  • Make deliveries to rooms, including packages, laundry, and messages.
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Valet park cars in a quick and efficient manner (i.e. running to the parked vehicle and/or running from the parked vehicle back to the front of the hotel.)
  • Return to a “posted” position when ready for the next task.

Absolutely Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and current DMV report required with 2 points or less.
  • Minimum 21 years of age required.

Desired Skills:

  • Some front of the house hotel experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
