Job Summary:

The Spa Attendant provides guest services as needed; handing out towels, robes, sandals, locker keys, refreshments and other amenities. Maintain the day-to-day cleaning of the Spa and locker areas. Maintain clean linen supplies, guest amenities and product supplies for daily treatments. Must be self-motivated and possess good lifting skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests and providing them with locker keys, robes, sandals, towels and any other products requested.
  • Escort guests to their locker while answering any questions pertaining to available services and amenities.
  • Requires strong English communication skills.
  • Escort guests to waiting area and treatment provider as necessary. Requires ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly throughout work shift.
  • Set-up and break-down guest lockers on a daily basis. Must be able to obtain robes and sandals. Open and/or close the Sanctuary and Observatory depending on schedule. Must ensure areas are tidy, magazines are in order, and blankets are available, clean and folded.
  • Issue warm neck pillows, magazines, refreshments, amenities, etc. to guests waiting for a service and/or utilizing the Conservatory and/or Sanctuary.
  • Ensure guests waiting for a service are acknowledged and assisted in a timely manner.
  • Answer in-house phone and communicate any messages to staff or guests appropriately
  • Clean, maintain and restock bathroom, locker rooms, shower, locker facilities, linen rooms and public areas of the Spa and Salon. Remove trash, soiled linens, and recyclables and deliver to appropriate areas. Requires ability to push, pull, bend, and properly lift and put away (sometimes overhead) various items weighing up to 50lbs. repeatedly throughout the work shift.
  • Refill soap, shampoo, and all other dispensers. Requires ability to pump or pour product from large dispensers into smaller ones repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Clean and refill drink dispensers in public areas; ensure food items available to guests are fresh and replenished regularly. Requires ability to lift containers of water weighing 30lbs multiple times daily, as well as lifting and carrying platters of vegetables and other food items throughout the day.
  • Restock amenity items such as cotton balls, Q-tips, snacks, and other products using the hot sealer machine for up to an hour per day.
  • Drawing baths and performing specialty showers as needed. Requires ability to communicate with guests on water temperature and being able to assist guests in and out tubs. Cleaning of bath and shower after services is necessary and requires ability to crouch, kneel, bend and scrub areas often times while on hands and knees or in awkward positions.
  • Launder facial cloths, facial gowns and wash cloths with on-site washer and dryer, fold and put away as necessary.
  • Placing room service orders for guests. This requires effective communication skills and familiarity with menu items to ensure correct items are being placed and delivered.
  • Deliver professional, discreet, gracious and proper decorum to guests while they are utilizing The Spa and its services.
  • Reporting and turning in all lost and found items in accordance with company policy.
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with sanitation and cleaning standards critical.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to staff, managers and guests required.

Desired Skills:

  • Some previous hotel and/or housekeeping experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use and firm grasping is required. Skin/hands frequently in water and exposed to chemicals.
