Job Summary:

The Lead Floral Designer is responsible for leading creative, consistent and quick setup of all floral and event décor. The ability to create one of kind and exceptional floral pieces for all events and hotel guest areas. Must have the ability to lead, guide, council and produce all aspects of floral and event décor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must be capable of fast paced work especially when creating copy work for multiple events.
• Needs to have the creative ability to construct exceptional one-off pieces for focal areas in the hotel, weddings and other special events.
• Deliver and setup floral and event décor items in a timely and safe manner.
• Must be an effective yet positive communicator.
• Create a positive work environment for the department.
• Maintain a neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Full working knowledge and understanding of the floral industry.
• Assist with training of all Floral and Event Design Department staff.
• Full working knowledge of department financial goals.
• Maintain (COS) Cost of Sales of 30% and (COR) Cost of Rentals of 60% on all assigned events.
• Communicate department needs with manager daily.
• Communicate event needs to vendors and co-workers daily.
• Communicate and lead staff on assigned projects and on a daily basis.
• Manage each of assigned projects from start to finish.
• Meet with guests/clients to sell and guide them on all floral and event décor ideas.
• Proficient with the following software programs: Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SMS billing system, Apple software i.e. I Pad.
• Other duties as assigned by Floral & Event Design Manager.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
• Knows models and integrates Pebble Beach Company culture (mission, values, and standards).

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to drive a large cargo vehicle.
• Ability to safely lift and move large, heavy floral and event décor.
• Must have at least 2 years working knowledge within the floral industry.
• Must have working knowledge of the following software programs: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SMS billing system and Apple software i.e. I-Pad.
• Have and maintain valid California driver’s license with 2 (two) points or less.
• High school diploma or equivalent
