Job Summary:

The Cocktail Server greets guests and takes drink orders in a professional and friendly manner. Responsible for the prompt and courteous service of food and beverage ensuring that the guest receives immediate professional attention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and take drink orders.
• Open wine bottle and pour wine, refilling glasses as needed.
• Observe guests’ progress and respond in a timely way to their needs.
• Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption and behavior.
• Carry orders on a tray to the table and serve to the correct person.
• Check identification and verify age of those who appear to be younger than 30 years old.
• Strive to increase the guest check through suggestive sales techniques and alternatives.
• Prepare guest checks using Micros point of sale system, present the guest check, collect payment and make change accurately.
• Clean tables and remove dishes and glassware.
• Set-up and maintain a clear work area.
• Maintain necessary stock of napkins, silverware and other supplies.
• Attend monthly meetings and wine seminars.
• Inform manager of problems immediately.
• Add garnishes to drinks.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Food safety and RBS certifications.
• Previous experience serving.
• Must be a minimum age of 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of point of sale system helpful.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Repetitive hand use as well as foot controls and firm grasping.
