Job Summary:

The House Attendant will provide the highest quality cleaning services to ensure the resort meets the standards of a luxury resort. Must have attention to detail and have the ability to work efficiently during the duration of each shift. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and be able to communicate clearly to staff, managers, and guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Exceed the expectations of every guest, by providing a once in a lifetime experience, every time.
  • Appropriately meet, greet and assist Pebble Beach Company staff, vendors, guests and visitors.
  • Maintain the luxury resort reputation by completing daily special projects in assigned section. Special projects include attention to detail and excellent time management.

Daily projects include but not limited to: high and low dusting, spot treating carpet stains, polishing all furniture fixtures and brass with the appropriate cleaning chemicals, dusting and wiping all window sills, baseboards, desks and artwork, keeping all carpeted areas vacuumed including corners.
  • Maintain and deliver appropriate and organized par levels in Housekeeping closets between House Attendants; such as linen, coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate, creamer, honey, toilet paper, water, Kleenex, magazines, slippers, and hangers.
  • Attend to and maintain the overall cleanliness in the public areas of the resort. These areas include: Main Lobby, common areas, hallways, corridors, patios, public restrooms, club house, telephone banks, ATM areas, resort entrance(s), and employee locker rooms.
  • Patrol all public areas with impeccable attention to detail in order to maintain the highest quality of cleaning service.
  • Ensure all toilets, urinals, and bath rugs in public restrooms/employee locker rooms are spotless and free of dirt, hair, feces, urine and paper. Replenish toiletries as often as needed.
  • Roll, wash and dry Huck towels for the public bathrooms and special designated areas.
  • Attend to and maintain the overall cleanliness in the Departmental Offices of the resort known as: Accounting, Sales, Conference Services, Executive Offices, Marketing, The Adobe, Front Desk, Guest Services, Business Center and Staircases.
  • Maintain Lobby storage areas in neat and well-organized manner.
  • Responsible for proper cleaning and sanitizing of Traps and Lobby Lounge Bar.
  • Traps and Lobby Lounge Bar non-slip Matts must be removed and cleaned on a weekly basis.
  • Refrigerators and shelving must be pulled out on a daily basis. These areas need to be swept and mopped underneath and behind in order to remain free of dirt and trash.
  • All drains need to be scrubbed with the proper cleaning chemical on a regular basis to reduce grime build up and fruit fly attraction.
  • Polish and clean all brass metal with the appropriate chemical.
  • Vacuum and dust bars including corners, window sills, underneath furniture and cushions daily.
  • Responsible for collecting dirty glasses and coffee mugs from Room Attendants carts, staircases, and Housekeeping closets followed by cleaning and polishing of all glasses and mugs before returning to closets and Room Attendant carts.
  • Ensure all dirty glasses and coffee mugs are cleaned and sanitized properly. Glasses and coffee cups must remain free of stains and water spots before distributing back out to the Room Attendants carts.
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the dish wash station. Work station should remain free of dirt, dust, and grime. Floors must be swept and mopped regularly. Shelving must be dusted.
  • Report to Housekeeping all Room Service dirty dishes to be picked up if visible in any guest area, common area, or staircases.
  • Responsible for delivering large items such as; but not limited to rollways, mini-fridges, microwaves, cribs, pack-n-plays, bed boards, and swapping of any furniture, etc.
  • Responsible for evenly distributing clean linen to the House Attendants each morning.
  • Distribute appropriate par of clean coverlets, throw blankets, and pillow shams to Housekeeping closets amongst each House Attendant.
  • Responsible for completing delivery request to the guest rooms if the housekeeper is no longer in the room. For example: dressing the bed with the bedspread.
  • Assist Office Coordinators with the set-up of Housekeeping papers.
  • Retrieve daily amount of ice carts needed from AB Knuckle for ice delivery.
  • Responsible for cleaning/removing items off the ground such as stains and gum.
  • Clean glass doors and all benches and fixtures outside to keep free of dirt, cob webs, and bird droppings.
  • Responsible for reporting or exchanging any seat cushions that are damaged and helping collect or return cushions before or after rain.
  • Responsible for windows, marble and carpet cleaning.
  • Responsible for proper cleaning in guest hallways, staircases, elevator landings, and housekeeping closets.
  • Must remove and properly dispose of soiled linen and garbage from housekeeping carts and closets.
  • Report all inventory and supply problems, discrepancies or deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Manager immediately.
  • Report all Engineering issues in a prompt manner to the Office Coordinator.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all guest, personnel and other business related matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managers.
  • Assist in other job roles when scheduled such as, Room Attendant, Office Coordinator, Uniform Issue, and Ice Delivery.
  • Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Know, model, and integrate Pebble Beach Company culture (mission, values, and standards).
  • Must have a strong work ethic, professionalism, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Attend departmental meetings and daily huddles.
  • Any reasonable request by management outside the scope of the House Person job as needed.

Absolutely Required Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have knowledge of proper cleaning and chemical use.

Desired Skills:

  • Preferred Hotel experience but not required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use and firm grasping is required. Skin/hands frequently in water and exposed to chemicals.
