Job Summary:

The Driver ensures the safe transportation of resort guests to and from the golf courses, hotels and other various destinations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be courteous, respectful and pleasant to all guests.
  • Report guest issues/incidents immediately at next stop.
  • Keep all vehicles fueled.
  • Transport guests to and from Spanish Bay, The Lodge, Casa Palmero and Beach Club properties in 8 (eight) one-hour loops; to include 10 stops per loop or 80 stops per day.
  • Transport guests to off-site destinations, including but not limited to Monterey Peninsula Airport, Local restaurants, San Jose and San Francisco.
  • Assist guests with storage, loading, unloading and safe handling of luggage and golf clubs.
  • Ability to handle at a minimum 25 pieces of luggage/bags per day, 25 -50 lbs per piece of luggage/bag.
  • Greet guests with a sincere smile and using the proper salutation.
  • Use guest name and recognize return guests, whenever possible.
  • Answer questions and provide information on daily functions taking place throughout the resort.
  • Take 5-10 minutes each time you sign out a company vehicle to inspect for cleaning, maintenance and safety issues. Use checklists provided and send to transportation office to the attention of the dispatcher.
  • Report any such deficiencies immediately to your working supervisor and if there is a safety hazard do not drive the vehicle.
  • No handheld phones or other communication devices are to be used while driving.
  • No emails or texting while driving.
  • Pick up golf clubs and carry to storage area and store properly.
  • Transport packages and materials between properties upon request.
  • Greet guests, load luggage, unload luggage for passengers leaving vehicle.
  • Sign in at the location log sheets, check log sheets for instructions regarding request for packing pick-up and drop off.
  • Drive within legal and company speed limits along the prescribed route to the next destination.
  • Provide guests with information regarding re-routes.
  • Inform guests of each stop with driver’s intentions. (i.e. inform guests when you must go and sign in on the location log sheets.)
  • Ensure that schedule for guest pickup/drop off is strictly adhered to, without exceeding speed limits.
  • Respond promptly to communications from dispatcher, manager, group coordinator, MOD, supervisor and comply with instructions given.
  • Never leave key in unattended vehicle; must always have key with you.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager, supervisor, group coordinator, dispatcher and MOD.
  • Assist the Guests Services Dept. as needed, to include Porter/Valet and Concierge.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or MOD may include opening the door of the hotel for guests and safe handling of luggage and packages.
  • Able to drive autos, vans, SUV’s busses (13-25 passenger) and disable vans. Cell phones, hands free devices only.
  • Knows, models and integrates Pebble Beach Company culture (mission, values, and standards)
  • Comply with the Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures

Absolutely Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement or attain within three months of hire.
  • Have and maintain valid California driver’s license with 2 (two) points or less.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
